Start Recording
Once you're done setting up on the Pre-recording Screen, clicking the Record button will immediately begin your screen recording session.
Recording Controls
While you're recording, a small, moveable control panel with timer will appear on screen:
- Pause – Temporarily stop recording without ending the session. Perfect if you need a quick break or want to skip over something.
- Stop – Ends the recording and automatically opens the Editor so you can start editing right away.
- Abort – Cancels the session and deletes the current recording permanently. Use this if you want to completely start over.
Hotkey Control
You can set custom hotkeys for Pause and Stop in the app settings. Just go to Settings > Hotkeys to configure them.
Smart Mouse Tracking with Automatic Zooms
CANVID automatically tracks your mouse movements and clicks while you record. These interactions guide the app’s built-in smart zoom.
- Your cursor movements and clicks determine where zooms or pans happen.
- These automatic zooms help keep your viewers focused on what matters.
- After recording, you can edit, move, resize, or remove any zooms in the Editor.
After You Stop Recording
When you’re done and hit Stop, the app instantly launches the Editor.
