AI Webcam
Didn’t record with your webcam? No problem. AI Webcam lets you generate your webcam video after the fact, fully synced to your existing audio.
Whether you forgot to turn on your camera, were in a bad lighting situation, or just wanted to stay focused during the recording, this feature makes it look like you recorded your camera all along.
What is AI Webcam?
This feature uses AI to generate a webcam video that is lip-synced to your voice in the project. Choose one of the preloaded Example Avatars or an avatar you have already created under My Avatars. To create a new avatar, use either:
- An MP4 video of yourself on camera
- A webcam clip extracted from a previous project that includes a camera
AI Webcam uses that video to generate a new webcam where your your mouth and expressions are synced to the new audio.
The result? A seamless picture-in-picture webcam that looks like it was recorded live, even though it wasn’t.
When Should You Use It?
- You recorded your screen without a webcam but want a personal touch
- You weren’t camera-ready but want to appear on screen later
- You want consistency across different videos by reusing a strong webcam take
How to Generate an AI Webcam
Record/open a project without a webcam
Complete a new recording, or open an existing project where no camera was used during recording.
Go to the Camera Editor
Select the Webcam icon in the sidebar to open the Camera Editor.
Click Generate AI Webcam
This feature only appears on projects recorded without a camera. If a camera was already used, it won't be available.
Choose a Processing Mode
- Cloud: uses the app's cloud servers to generate your AI Webcam
- Local: supported on Intel AI Pcs or Intel Arc GPUs
Example Avatars
This option allows you to choose from 8 example avatars to use for your AI Webcam. Select the avatar you want, then click Generate AI Webcam.
My Avatars
This option allows you to select an avatar you have already created or create a new one from your own video.
Click Add Template
Under the My Avatars tab, click Add Template to get started.
Choose your video source
Choose one of the following options as the source for your AI Webcam avatar:
- Use webcam from a previous project: Browse your computer for an existing project file that includes a webcam.
- Use an existing webcam video: Select an MP4 of yourself on camera stored on your computer.
Click Generate AI Webcam
Once selected, the app will create an avatar based on your video and add it to your My Avatars list.
When ready, click Generate AI Webcam.
Let the app work its magic!
A progress bar will appear as your webcam footage is created and synced. Once complete, your AI webcam will be automatically added to your video.
Customization Options
Just like a real camera in the app, you can use the Camera Editor to:
- Adjust size and corner roundness
- Move position (top right, bottom left, etc.)
- Apply a blurred, replaced, or removed background
- Change how the camera behaves when zooming
