Pre-Recording Screen

Use CANVID’s Pre-recording Screen to easily set up your camera, mic, and system audio before screen recording.

After choosing between Window or Display capture, you'll see the Pre-recording Screen — a quick setup window that helps you configure your screen recording just the way you want it.

All editing and customization of your video take place after recording, within the CANVID Editor.

Pre-recording Options

The following options are available to help you get set up before starting your recording session:

Choose to record your entire screen (Display) or a specific window or app (Window)

When using Window mode, you can resize the app window — and it will automatically adjust the target window to match your preferred dimensions.

Toggle your webcam and microphone on or off. You can also pick your preferred devices if you have multiple inputs connected.
Toggle system audio recording on or off.
Get a real-time preview so you know exactly how your video will look before you hit record.

When you're all set, click the Record button.
