Local AI Requirements

Check whether your Windows PC supports Local AI for AI Speech Edit and AI Webcam in CANVID.

CANVID offers Local AI and Cloud AI processing for AI Speech Edit and AI Webcam.

Local AI processes the video on your own computer and requires supported AI-accelerated hardware.
Cloud AI processes the video in the cloud and does not require supported local AI hardware.

Local AI does not use Cloud Credits. Cloud AI usage is included with some licenses and subscriptions; otherwise, it uses Cloud Credits. See Cloud Credits & Storage Upgrades for details.

Local AI is currently available only on Windows. CANVID checks your system automatically and enables Local AI only when it detects a compatible device.

Supported hardware

Intel Arc graphics

Discrete Intel Arc A750, A770, or newer graphics are supported.

Intel Core Ultra Series 2 laptops

Intel Core Ultra Series 2 laptops are supported when their Intel graphics meet CANVID's local processing threshold. These processors use model numbers in the 200V, 200H, or 200HX families.

Examples include:

Core Ultra 9 285H / 285HX
Core Ultra 7 265H / 265HX
Core Ultra 5 245H / 245HX
Core Ultra 9 288V
Core Ultra 7 268V
Core Ultra 5 236V

Under the hood, CANVID requires an OpenVINO compatible Intel GPU with at least 50 INT8 TOPS of reported performance.

NVIDIA graphics

Local AI is supported on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30-series or newer graphics cards.

Unsupported hardware and platforms

Local AI is not currently available when:

You are using macOS
You have an AMD GPU
Your computer only has CPU processing available
Your Intel hardware does not meet the compatibility and performance requirements above
Your NVIDIA GPU has a compute capability below 8.6

Local AI support for more hardware is still a work in progress. If Local AI is unavailable, you can use Cloud AI for the same features.

How CANVID checks compatibility

CANVID scans the processing devices available on your system. If it finds compatible hardware, you can select Local when using AI Speech Edit or generating AI Webcam footage.

If the Local option is disabled, CANVID did not find a device that meets the current requirements.
